Esta canción fue creada por esta cantautora a la edad de 62 años, inspirándose en la zona de Daly City California. Haciendo una crítica social al homogéneo estilo de vida de los suburbios estadounidenses "Y las personas en las casas todas fueron a la universidad, donde fueron puestas en cajas y todas ellas lucen igual". Esta misma letra la va a adaptar y con arreglo musical de su autoría Víctor Jara en 1971 llamándola "Las casitas del barrio alto".

La escuché por primera vez en la serie "Weeds" ( Marihuana) . La trama principal es una ama de casa del ficticio suburbio de Agrestic queda repetinamente viuda. Para sobrevivir vende marihuana. Esta comedia es políticamente incorrecta y convierte a Desperate Houseviwes en un programa familiar.
